Ladies and Gentlemen start your burners! Entries are now open for the 2008 SOBA National HomeBrew Championship. Entries will close on 31 July 2008. Judging will be done during August and results announced at the SOBA HomeBrewFest, which this year will be during the BrewNZ week - first week of September.

There will be a delay in processing new SOBA memberships, as I will be out of the country until May 6. Apologies to anyone inconvenienced by this, I will attend to all pending membership applications upon my return.

If you have any queries in the meantime, Kieran Haslett-Moore will be answering emails to secretary@soba.org.nz.

Hi SOBA people,

I'm finding it a bit tricky to round up enough news each week to keep these posts as informative and interesting as they can be, so I'm going to move to just posting regular news items as they come to hand in the News section. Those of you who have subscribed to the RSS feed on the news section will never miss a post! Please keep news coming in, and I'll keep posting it.

Thank you to all who attended the first SOBA AGM at Bar Edward in Newtown, Wellington on Saturday. It was great to meet those of you I hadn't already met, and the commitment and enthusiasm from everyone was a great thing to behold.

Special thanks to James, the proprietor of Bar Edward for being a great host, and to Stu McKinlay and Brendon Mackenzie for sharing the chairman/MC duties.
