[edit] Objectives

The purpose of the Beer Judge Certification Program is to promote beer literacy and the appreciation of real beer, and to recognize beer tasting and evaluation skills. Founded in 1985, the BJCP certify and rank beer judges through an examination and monitoring process. The BJCP have 4,105 members worldwide. Since the BJCP started keeping detailed records, it's members have judged over 349,943 beers and have sanctioned over 2,995 competitions.

[edit] Date of New Zealand exam

No exam is currently scheduled. Andrew Walsh of Sydney and Luke Nicholas of Steam Brewing in Auckland are tentatively pencilled in to be the examination proctors (with Andrew also acting as the administrator) should an exam be finalised.

[edit] Costs

A deposit of NZD$30 per person will be required up front (payable to SOBA by cheque or directly to our bank account) and then the rest, which will take total payment up to USD$50/pp, will be payable on the day according to the exchange rate at that time. Keep in mind no exam has been scheduled, you may not wish to pay until one has.
