Membership drive
From SOBA
[edit] Thoughts from Luke
Three types of members
Beer Drinkers - the members that drive and benefit from this movement.
Brewers - creating great beer for the beer drinkers to drink, also the figureheads, educators, and entertainers for the beer festivals, beer tastings, and beer dinners
Retailers - this includes bottleshops, bars, pubs, cafes, resturants, they are the interface between the beer drinkers and brewers. The ones that will be the focal points in our local communities where those that want to learn more and or appreciate good beer can go to.
Each of these three groups has a roll to play to make this movement successful. We have to define what each group needs to do and how to do it.
[edit] Thoughts from Greig
"If you build it, they will come" - especially if there is great cheap beer.
Perhaps an impromptu mini festival could be organised as a collaboration between Steam/Epic and Tuatara, maybe with hand pulled ales, and held at several venues nationally. It could be fairly quick to organise for one venue, then just replicate it. This could be our inaugural beer festival - a taste of what is to come, and a great way to sign up members. Imagine being issued with your discount card and instantly being able to use it on some of the best beers in the country?
[edit] Thoughts from Peter
What am I? OK, I am a beer drinker. That's obvious. But I don't seem to be a brewer and I am definitely not a Retailer. But I brew!!! Where are the Home brewers?
Cheers
Peter
