Thank you to all who voted in the first SOBA awards. The results were announced in early January and are available in this edition of Pursuit of Hoppiness and the SOBA website. The SOBA awards are unique, in that they focus on beer advocacy at a regional level. I believe this regional focus is important to ensure the people putting in the hard yards to bring good beer to their local area are recognised and not eclipsed by the major centres which already have a thriving beer culture. Congratulations to all winners, keep up the good work!
We’re heading into beer festival season, which is a great time to promote SOBA’s cause. SOBA had a presence at the recent South Island Beer Festival and Greater Wellington Brew Day, where volunteers signed-up new members and sold SOBA merchandise. There’ll be similar stands at Marchfest in Nelson and Great Kiwi Beer Festival in Christchurch. If you’d like to help out at these stands please contact your Regional Coordinator.
Please enjoy this Autumn edition of Pursuit of Hoppiness, and appreciate the many hours of volunteer work that goes into getting it out!
